Personalized Pillowcase Dress

As you can see I was VERY busy last night! Making bows and I also made a personalized pillowcase dress for my niece who will turn 1 tomorrow! Part of her present will be the dress and the two small double bows (from the previous post). Her older sister will also get a personalized pillow case dress and the larger triple stacked bow (from the previous post) will be for her as well.
The neat thing about this dress is that it can grow with her. Right now it's a dress, but as she gets older she can put bloomers under it. When she is a bigger girl she can wear it as a shirt. The ribbon ties are what allows the shirt to grow along with her!
Thanks for looking!

Hairbows! My first attempt!

Last night I was busy as a bee learning how to make infant to big girl bows. It was a lot of fun. I created:
a pair of giraffe no slip clips

A pair of double hair bows

A big girl triple stacked bow

Heirloom Children's Pattern

I just finished sewing and hand washing an heirloom outfit that I made for my little one for church. The pattern is "Jackson" from the Children's Corner collection of heirloom sewing patterns.

I used yellow linen fabric for the elastic waist shorts and the piping on the shirt. I used white broadcloth for the shirt.

The shirt has a slight A line shape, but it doesn't look girly. This makes dad REALLY happy! :-)

Hopefully I can get a picture posted by tomorrow...if I can get the little one to hold still long enough to get a good shot. If not I will just take a picture of it on a hanger and post for you all to see.

Blog you later...

Mini Wardrobe Contest

I'm in the beginning stages of planning for a mini wardrobe contest. I can't cut any fabric or sew until August 1st, but I am picking out patterns and am thinking about fabrics and notions to use in the wardrobe.

This is my first contest and I am VERY excited! This wardrobe will help me transition stylishly from late summer to early fall.

The wardrobe storyboard that I put together is shown above. It is also listed to the right as a link that will take you to http://www.sewing.patternreview.com/ where the contest is being hosted.

Blog you soon...
