Military Inspired Outfit

Here is an outfit that I finished up this weekend. Since this was my first time sewing this pattern there were a few un-anticipated snafus. (Most of them were not on my part.) First since really nice heirloom fabric is usually thin I will just cut two of the front pieces and eliminate the facings so that they won't show through the shirt. (It wasn't that obvious IRL, but when the camera flashed it became really noticeable.) The next modification is to cut it one size larger to accomodate for a pull up and to give him some growing room. Even though the measurements for the size that I cut out was a little larger than his measurements I still think it ran a little small for my taste. The third modification would be to lower the buttons on the shirt and lower the hem on the shirt so that it tucks in better.

I think the outfit turned out okay and I look forward to making it again with the noted changes.

Wedding Shower Card

This is a card that I made for one of my dear friends for her wedding shower. I used my cricut to cut out the card and the oval, cuttlebug embossing folder for the background, silver metallic ink to highlight the embossing and a bella stamp for the front pic. I used prismas and baby oil to color the stamped image.

Addition to previous Heirloom pattern post

Well I planned for my little one to wear the Heirloom outfit that I showed you all in a previous post, but when I took it out to iron it there were these little pink splatters all over his yellow shorts. Nothing was on the shirt, but the shorts were terrible! I don't know where it came from, but there was no way he could wear them without them being washed first. I knew that I was pressed for time so I put the shorts in some woolite to soak and realized that by the time I washed and dried them I could make a new pair of shorts and we could be at our destination. So the picture that you see is the same shirt with new white shorts. I could not get a picture until after we got home so his outfit is a bit wrinkled and he is very restless!
